New Brunswick Ground Search and Rescue Association Inc. (NBGSARA) represents all nine of the volunteer ground search and rescue teams in the province of New Brunswick. We represent the volunteers who dedicate their time and skills to locating lost and missing persons in the province. Volunteers also give their time for police evidence searches, assisting in notifying the public of voluntary evacuations during natural disasters and educating the public about backwoods safety. Together these individuals donate thousands of volunteer hours annually to their teams.
Just like the teams, NBGSARA is entirely run by volunteers. The association is comprised of an Executive Committee and a Board of Directors, comprised of members from various teams across the province. The association’s main function is administrative. NBGSARA acts as a liaison between member teams and partner agencies that help our teams to function. The Association also creates by-laws that ensure all teams are in good standing and capable of conducting safe and productive searches.
